Kristen Knight
Growing up in Pennsylvania, Kristen was slightly resentful that her family's vacations almost always involved campgrounds, hiking, and historical sites rather than beach houses or amusement parks. Since then, she¢â¡Ás come to appreciate her hippy parents' sensibilities - especially since parentally-funded vacations are a thing of the past. She's even managed to find a few parks and a waterfall or two near her home in Northern Virginia, land of H2s and subdivisions.
Kristen never showed talent for much of anything in grade school, so naturally she graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in journalism. She's worked as a reporter for The Fauquier Citizen, an award-winning Virginia newspaper, as an editor for an unfortunately (though probably not surprisingly) short-lived dot-bomb, and now holds a job with a government contractor as a technical writer and research assistant. Since 1998, Kristen also has managed to snag freelance writing and editing jobs for Web sites and print publications, and serves as newsletter editor for a volunteer organization. When not squinting at a computer, she's always up for a hike or a road trip, and likes to travel abroad when she can.
Kristen and John Taylor are coauthors, and live with their cat Ramona in Northern Virginia.
