Malcolm Campbell, 38, is president and founder of Charlotte-based Walkabout Press, Inc., original publisher of the Play Hard Rest Easy series of travel guidebooks and of Dana Rader's golf instructional book, Rock Solid Golf.
The former advertising copywriter has written two adventure travel guides, Play Hard Rest Easy: Carolinas & Georgia (with co-author Deron Nardo) and Play Hard Rest Easy: New England; edited more than ten published nonfiction books; and is currently co-authoring a book with Dr. Edith Irons on relationships for Health Communications, Inc., publisher of the bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
Campbell's award-winning magazine work includes more than 20 national business and travel articles. One of his public radio essays is anthologized in On Air: Essays from Charlotte's NPR station WFAE.
Campbell serves on the advisory board for Novello Festival Press, the nation's only public-library-sponsored literary press, and teaches a course on book publishing in Central Piedmont Community College's Corporate & Continuing Education division. He is pursuing a Master of Arts in Fiction from Vermont College in Montpelier, Vermont.
An avid mountain biker and hiker, Campbell lives in Charlotte with his wife, Lauren, and their three sons, McLean (7), Elliott (4), and William (1 year).
